Eversource and United Illuminating (UI) funding for Level 2 and/or DC fast chargers (DCFC):  

  • Workplaces 
  • Light-duty fleets 
  • Public charging 
  • Multifamily properties 

For projects in Underserved Communities, the maximum incentive levels are increased to $40,000 per site for Level 2 charging stations and $250,000 per site for DCFCs. Visit the Eversource website.

Norwich Public Utilities Level 2 program:  

Funding is available in the city of Norwich for Level 2 Chargers installed in MUD (4+ units), commercial or public locations. Visit the Norwich Public Utilities website. The program offers:

  • Multifamily: Up to $3,000, not to exceed the cost of the charger
  • Public: Up to $4,000, not to exceed the cost of the charger

Eversource – Electric Vehicle Charging Program:  

Eversource offers a $500 rebate for a Level 2 EV charger installed in a single-family residence. $500 is also available for installation/wiring. Visit the Eversource website.

Eversource – Commercial EV Charging Rebates

Eversource electric service customers in Connecticut can receive a rebate for the purchase and installation of EV charging stations at facilities including workplace, light-duty fleets, public charging, and multifamily properties. You can receive up to 50% of EVSE costs (Level 2 and/or DCFC) and up to 100% of make-ready costs. Visit the Eversource website.

United Illuminating – Commercial DCFC and Level 2 Make Ready and Rebate Program  

United Illuminating offers funding of up to 100% of eligible make-ready installation costs, and 50% of EVSE equipment in New Haven and Bridgeport. Visit the United Illuminating website.

 

Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit

Qualifying businesses, including non-profits and municipalities, may be eligible to a tax credit of up to 30% when purchasing and installing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The 30C tax credit now covers up to $100,000 per charger installed in locations that meet certain geographic requirements. Businesses must claim the credit on their federal tax return. National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program

The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program allocates $5 billion in funding to states to deploy EV fast chargers along designated alternative fuel corridors nationwide. The program provides funding for up to 80% of eligible project costs. In addition to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) minimum standards, each state can also set its own NEVI requirements.
