FLO Program Plants a Tree with Every FLO Home Purchase

The partnership with One Tree Planted is the latest ESG activity by FLO

AUBURN HILLS, Mich.– FLO, a leading North American electric vehicle (EV) charging network operator and smart charging solutions provider, announced a new opportunity for FLO^® customers to increase climate resilience through reforestation. The new initiative, in partnership with One Tree Planted, will plant a tree for every FLO Home unit purchased* further supporting FLO’s mission to help overcome climate change. With 80% of charging typically done at home, FLO’s large and expanding network of home-charging stations provides reliability and durability, even in the harshest climates, and now will make an additional positive impact on nature, wildlife, and communities with every tree donated.

“FLO was founded almost 15 years ago with the mission to help curb emissions and overcome climate change, and we are furthering that mission with our new tree planting initiative, which helps FLO, and our customers, make a positive impact on the planet,” said Chris Thorson, FLO Chief Marketing Officer. “As part of our robust Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) program, this initiative is just one of the exciting ways we are making a difference as we continue to expand access to reliable chargers and charging infrastructure.”

Optimized for single-family residences, the FLO Home charger is built to withstand extreme climates from severely cold Canadian winters to sweltering southern U.S. summers. The X5 model offers sophisticated charging, enabling the customer to schedule specific charging times, limit power during peak periods, track usage, and configure settings from their iOS or Android device.

“Overcoming climate change may be FLO’s mission, but our customers are what enable us to put that mission into action,” added Thorson. “This new program will allow FLO to partner with our customers in ushering in a clean, more sustainable future.”

Additionally, earlier this year FLO contributed to One Tree Planted’s Urban Forestry Action Fund to celebrate Earth Day. The contribution will support efforts to plant mature trees in New York City’s Highbridge Park in upper Manhattan. FLO’s contribution will also help complete the bulk of the remaining reforestation in the northern half of the park, enabling the Urban Forestry Action Fund to mark a significant milestone in the process of reviving this critical urban forest.
